absolutely amazing! you guys totally ROCKED manifesto. seriously, best song ever. and so incredibly powerful. watching the celebration choir lead the AMEN was so amazing. and revelation song, you'll come, all of it - SO POWERFUL. ahh! i'm totally geeking out at God's amazingness. (i know amazingness isn't a word, but it's totally fine).
Personally, yesterday was the most moving spiritual worship service I have ever attended (even at New Hope). Thanks so much for facilitating that with your talents! I didn't show up expecting to be so moved. Just when I think it can't get any better, it does. Wow! I got a chance to thank a few of you yesterday, personally, but everyone did great! Keep up the good work and excellence. Right now, I'm not sure whether I would have rather been up on stage or in the audience. Wow! Amazing job!
Awesome Sunday!!!!! The Holy Spirit's presence was so palpable in the sanctuary. Everything that happened on stage - the flow, the songs, the band, the choir(woo-hoo!!), the congregation's response - inspired me. Wow! WAM simply provided an avenue for God to move. We were not the focus though we performed well. God was the focus. The communion was perhaps the best in my opinion. God's love and peace rested heavily upon us. As for evaluation, my wife and her friend said that they couldn't hear the choir as well as last Easter. There were fewer of us on stage which probably explains the volume. The lighting in my opinion was AWESOME, dramatic and captured the mood of the songs.
Guys - I can't critique a worship service like the one God put on yesterday through you all! It was a mazing! My mom watched Icampus from Angier after reading all my comments and she texted "Wow that was awesome." (She was raised a Catholic btw...and totally related to Pastor B's presentation of Communion!)
Yesterday was also the most moving worship service I have ever experienced...EVER! The best way I could put it into words I did on my blog. Here's the post http://redbone.blog.com/?p=5193636
We serve an AMAZING God - and He has put each and every one of you with your unique talents and gifts into place right where He wants you...at Newhope Church!
Totally saturated with His presence... I can't express how thankful I am to be involved in this movement.
Y'all... oh my gosh... I was useless after worship yesterday... it's totally a God-thing that I was even able to sustain the physical energy required of me all three services.
Fuller was speaking with one of the other WAM-ers yesterday (and put it quite succinctly): "There's a hole where my soul used to be" ... because we all spilled our spiritual "guts" out there and gave it all up to God.
This weekend was truly a glimpse into what I hope will be heaven - spending LITERALLY all day with the team, all day Sunday worshiping, and then watching our loved ones be baptized!!!!
Only one gripe here, though nothing is perfect. Shawn's lead breaks and solo on "Revelation Song" was mostly quiet, compared to the string pads underneath (18:22). The string pads underneath sounded great, but emphasis should have been given to the gtr. part at that point.
I'm not sure I can even put into words how incredibly AMAZING worship and the entire service was yesterday. I so hated not being able to be up there with the choir this time, but as someone else said in a prior comment, I was so BLESSED being a part of the congregation. God is truly moving in newhope and through all of you!
Brady and Angelou-ya'll were beast to watch! And big props to the choir for igniting EN-ER-GY! I can't stop reliving this worship experience!!!! And just sayin' Tevis - definitely in the house! Lighting was phenomenal!
I have always felt that mankind's creative abilities are the most beautiful and moving when being used to praise God. I've seen this again and again in both the visual and performing arts all around the world. And I saw it again on Sunday!
Mirtha
When Jenny started singing as a performer I am and I was amazed music teacher who has reached maturity in his voice and expressiveness but ultimately his words touched my heart also because only the love of God moved her lips ... And that is singing and playing instruments: to reach out to people, to convey the message that we think and grow. Congratulations and forth forever with God and for God. He is the only truth and the only answer.
@ Jon K: Thanks for looking out for me buddy! But how do you know I wasn't using the 'keyboard string arrangement' preset? :)
@ Mark M: I agree that the choir could be louder. I'm betting they WERE louder in person. The online mixes (while getting much, much better) just don't give you a clear idea of what really happened.
@ Band: Everything rocked...but You'll Come sounds kind of sloppy on this. I'm guessing we were running out of steam? Goes to show - always room for improvement.
@ everyone (WAMily, etc): awesome experience this weekend. So much fun, and so blessed to be a part of it. Next week will be just as awesome, but in a different way. I think its important to keep looking for the thing that God is trying to show or teach each week...and though we got to be a part of a really high energy, emotional and spiritual thing this week, it doesn't mean other weeks that are quieter, slower, or just plain different aren't as powerful. Just sayin'.
Note: The iCampus mixes are typically done in about 35 minutes immediately following the 3rd service so a lot of little nuances are often not achieved simple due to time constraints.
The main goal of the iCampus mix is to have the music sonically represent the performance in a clean way that sounds like 1 unit of performance.
The house mix on Sunday is 100% separate and unique.
PS- It's funny that guitarists think the guitars are too soft, choir members think the choir is too soft and keyboardist thinks the keyboards are too soft:) If we all had our way, everything would just be as loud as possible:) thus equaling a big wall of noise:) lol!
I'll go one step further :) I'm starting to like this mix precisely because no one stands out too much - it feels powerful and unified - even in playback. Sure, each of us can get picky about not hearing the little bits we worked on, etc - but if you take it as a whole - its one group doing one thing: worship. Still awesome :)
wow... 14 days later, this service still has the Spirit of God all over it... this should be put on a DVD and given away to random people every single day...

Shawn, I figured the 'keyboard string arrangement' preset was only on the newer HD POD, but I could have been wrong.
