I know it's been said probably 1,000 times by now, but Jesus was THICK in that place yesterday. Seriously. I am STILL in awe of how amazing the whole day was.
Positives: 1. Worship was on point. It was authentic. It was real. And the energy was palpable. 2. Volunteers knocked it out of the park. First contact, WAM volunteers, backstage folks, Sara, Nick G., Lori, the Knights, ROCKED it. 3. The message was off the chain. We know this. 4. Derek Hester is AMAZING. Seriously. He was SO fun to watch. That dude is FILLED with the holy spirit and his worship was so awesome. He looked like he was having the TIME of his life. I wish we could have that percussion set up every Sunday. 5. Chris, Tenea, Emily, and Michelle - your solos were AMAZING. Sounded BEAUTIFUL! 6. Fuller, you are an inspiring leader and you radiate the love of Christ in your worship. 7. Dustin, Jared, Jon Evans, Angelo, and the rest of the WAM musicians - AMAZING stage presence. Seriously.
Constructive Stuff to think about for next year (and Sundays in general): 1. The choir was SO good and sounded SO good but was very poorly lit. I know this was a challenge because they were so far back on the stage - but I just wish I could have seen them more. 2. This was something I mentioned in a C2 meeting, and I think we did a GOOD job of, but could do better - when we're in a venue like DPAC (and even at Central Campus) it's important to raise the level of excellence musically, creatively, etc... while also maintaining a high level of reverence by reminding the congregation that they are at church and it's not a concert. If there was a way to more directly involve the people in worship. I don't have the answer, but it's something to think about. Or by trying different types of things to reach and connect with people - maybe some people don't connect with rap, but others may connect with the dance, or some may not connect with the dance, but others connect with the spoken word, while others may not connect with the spoken word, they may connect with more traditional hymns, while some may like the big loud songs, others might like a more acoustic and soft song.
I'm not sure if any of that makes sense or not, but it's just something to think about and consider.
Anyway. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts! I thought it was an AMAZING day and I am seriously honored to be a part of this church and what God is doing. And it was an honor to be a part of the congregation yesterday watching everyone do their thing and God strut His stuff.
What an awesome worship service! It was such a blessing to be a part of this! Everyone did an awesome job and brought tons of energy!
I just thought I would share that afterwards in the lobby I jumped in the air and a guy walking passed me stopped to ask if I was the percussionist in the middle of the stage. Apparently Derek and I look a lot alike!
Truly awesome. Last night at WAM rehearsal for 1-29 services Molly mentioned a video showing how to worship the wrong way. Here's a link from my YouTube channel:

Thanks for sharing your amazing gifts, not only for the salvation of the lost, but for the edification of the church.
Love to all.
