Wow! This week was incredible, guys! The musical and spiritual preparation was so evident. Let's keep praying that God shows up like this every week! Because there wasn't anything special about us playing this week; we just let God use us.
It was truly amazing! I have never previously been able to remove myself from the stage so much, and I've never been so confident on stage either. And they both happened on the same week!
That was the best we've ever done Hosanna before! Brady, you nailed that solo, I LOVED it! Jon, that fill on the bridge still makes me want to explode!
I can't wait to see how God uses us this coming weekend!
Keep it up! And keep in prayer, if we want this to happen again we need to practice and be prepared. And just as importantly, we need to have a hearts in the right place throughout the week.
I just want to say it is an honor to serve with such genuine worshippers in the visual/performing/technical arts. I am so proud of this younger generation - talk about "new hope!" The worship, from the song set/ worship plan to the execution was surely "in touch" with Something much bigger than ourselves this week!
I now know what worship is. I have played music in church for years but until Sunday, had never worshiped. If that is what Heaven is going to be like, then sign me up! My definition of worship = closing the mind and letting the spirit praise the Lord! I have never experienced that. Quite Frankly, This is the only way I will play from know on! I am a passionate person and have never been able to express that in worship in the same way I have as a coach and as a musician. It occured to me that music was God's gift to me to enable me to tell God how I feel. The flesh is full of sin and Satan uses that to get in the way during worship. When I asked God to come be with me and told him that " I am a sinner and I am sorry, BUT I love you and want to show it to you the most sincere way I can". Playing drums allowed me to do that with out any recourse or guilt! My spirit was able to tell God simply that " you are my God and I love you"!!!
Guys,
God is real and he comes to us when we ask him to. Worship through music is a tangible way to experience him. In my opinion, the band experienced that this weekend:) We could feel it Thursday. We were prepared as musicians coming into rehersal, Then prayer allowed the Holly Spirit to drop a bomb on us! I am in withdrawal as I went into work. Know I have to go into the mission field and tell others about it with my actions and words.
Very excited about Friday! I really want to prepare in prayer so I can spend some WAM time with my saviour!
Just want to say - - - the worship this week and in the past weeks has been truly emotionally stirring for me. The artistic gifts you all share every week allow God to move so much through every note. I don't really know if I can really put it into words...but it's on point. I'm one of those people that lets the music set the tone for me...and that definitely happens for me every Sunday at Newhope and I can imagine the same happens to others...including non-believers that experience Newhope for the first time on any given Sunday. Just sayin' - God is all over it!
